Mother-of-pearl Fan, Circa 1880, Style Louis XV

Mother-of-pearl gouache fan. The leaf is made of skin, it is painted in gouache with a charming scene in the style of paintings from the Louis XV period. The frame is in mother-of-pearl, pierced, carved, engraved, burgauted and inlaid with gold and silver. In a pretty box covered with embroidered fabric, from the house “Faucon, artistic fans, avenue de l’Opéra, Paris”. The fan measures 11,33 inches long closed and 21,65 inches in diameter open. Paris, circa 1880.
