French umbrella tortoiseshell and gold, circa 1850

French umbrella tortoiseshell and gold. Beautiful shaft entirely in tortoiseshell adorned with gold stars, the top in gold inlaid with four half pearls and a blue stone. The silk has been replaced identically by Michel Heurtault (http://parasolerieheurtault.com/) and its original lace has been reused. It folds in two to put it away which allowed to go up in “car”. The entire umbrella is 24,01″ long and 18,50″ in open diameter, it measures 12,99″ folded. It is in perfect condition and can be used. France, circa 1850.
