Antique umbrella, 19th century
Antique umbrella. Umbrella of the mid-nineteenth century called “Ombrelle Marquise”. The upper part of the handle is made of wood. Between the two parts a sliding gilt metal ring can fold the umbrella to store it. The silk was restored, as it was at the time, by the parasolerie Heurtault in Paris http://parasolerieheurtault.com. The umbrella is 24,41″ long and the silk 20,07″ in diameter. It is in perfect condition and can be used. France, circa 1850.
