Jules Eugène Pagès (1867-1946) “the garden”

Jules Eugène Pagès was born in San Francisco, In 1888, he went to Paris to study at the Académie Julian with Jules Joseph Levebvre, jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant and Tony Robert-Fleury. Pages spent forty years in France, returning frequently to San Francisco to paint and exhibit his work. After the outbreak of War, Pages returned to the United States and died in San Francisco on May 22, 1946. He is known for his Impressionist landscapes, seascapes and genre paintings. The canvas measures 18,11 inches X 11,81 inches. It is signed lower left.
