18th Century Fan, Venus and putti
18th century fan. Exceptional carved frame. It is carved in the center of a Venus surrounded by putti, and on the other sticks, columns, flowers, putti, doves which form a magnificent decoration. This frame is almost in perfect condition, the only shortcoming being a small dove missing on the second stick from the left of the photo. The leaf is in skin, painted with gouache of gallant scenes in a park. Wear and old restorations visible on the leaf. It measures 10,04 inches long closed and 19,17 inches in diameter open.
