«The butterfly hunt» fan signed Labarre dated 1874
Fan “The butterfly hunt”. The leaf is paper lined with skin. It is painted with gouache of a magnificent scene where two women and three young children run after butterflies. It is signed on the upper right Ch.Labarre. On the back is indicated the dates 12 and 14 November 1874. Superb mother-of-pearl mount finely engraved and numbered “MTA?”. It is presented in its beautiful original box in veneer of rosewood and mother of pearl, inside silk and velvet. The fan is 11,02″ long and 20,86″ in open diameter, the case measures 12,60″ X 2,75. The fan and the box are in perfect condition.
