18th century friendship souvenir case, tortoiseshell, Danse card
“Friendship souvenir” case. It is in tortoiseshell, silver, and mother-of-pearl. It is decorated with two miniatures, one representing a woman’s portrait and the other a monogram surrounded by a wreath of flowers. On one side you can read the inscription “souvenir” and the other “friendship”. Nice decorations of volutes in relief. The borders are adorned with thin plates of mother-of-pearl. It contains ivory writing plates and a small silver-tipped pencil. It measures 4,25″ long, 3,23″ wide and 0,31″ thick. It is very good condition.
