Umbrella-sword. A rare umbrella with a push button allows to release a blade of 12,79 “. The knob is in horn with carved decoration of a dog’s head. Silk has been changed by the parasol Heurtault in Paris, specialist of the old umbrellas and creator of umbrellas haute couture (www.parasolerieheurtault.com/fr/). A new fabric made in a beautiful silk allowed this umbrella to return to its original appearance. Whales marked by the famous umbrella manufacturer Paragon Fox (founded in 1868 by Mr Thomas Fox). The whole umbrella measures 36″, the diameter of the canvas (open umbrella) is 39,76”. It is in good condition, to mention some usual wear on the horn knob. Sword-sticks were relatively widespread at the end of the 19th century, but there are fewer system umbrellas. This one, perfectly authentic date of the years 1900.
