Antique fan, 18 ThC wedding fan. The leaf is made of paper, painted and embroidered with metallic sequins. In the center a couple in front of the altar of Love where a putti holds a crown of flowers. On the right the man plays the flute, and on the left Madame is surrounded by flowers, a tree and and a bouquet. Each detail is painted, glittery, embroidered with exquisite finesse! The colors are very fresh for a fan from this era. The mount is carved ivory, gilded and silvered. It measures 10,62″ closed and 19,29″ in open diameter. Very good condition, old restorations visible on the back of the leaf.
